Nuggets' Nurkic leaves game in wheelchair
The Denver Nuggets' depressing season may have gotten a whole lot sadder Wednesday, as prized rookie big-man Jusuf Nurkic left the team's game against the Phoenix Suns in a wheelchair.
Nurkic exited the game with 9:29 remaining in the fourth quarter after landing awkwardly, suffering a right lateral ankle sprain in the process, according to the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey.
At this point there is no timetable for Jusuf Nurkic's return. He remained in considerable pain in the locker room. #Nuggets

Considering how much pain Nurkic appeared to be in, however, a sprained ankle means he may have actually dodged a bullet. X-rays on the ankle came back negative.
The 20-year-old has averaged 7.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 18 minutes per game for the 20-37 Nuggets.
