Kerr not concerned about Curry as MVP, takes shot at Rockets
Steve Kerr suited up with Michael Jordan during his playing career, so he knows something about MVP debates, having witnessed Karl Malone rob Jordan for the award in 1997.
Now, as head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Kerr stressed Thursday that he's more concerned with winning than accolades for his star Stephen Curry, taking a shot at Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey in the process.
Kerr on not pushing MVP: "If Daryl Morey wants to run his own 1 man campaign for James Harden he can do that. We're focused on other stuff."

Morey promoted his star Harden for NBA MVP while speaking with ESPN's Tom Haberstroh.
Kerr explained after practice Thursday that he would like to see Curry take the Maurice Podoloff Trophy, but that it is understandably not a priority.
"I care. I'd like for Steph to win the MVP, and I think he deserves it," he said.
With the way Russell Westbrook has been playing, the MVP race may not totally boil down to just Harden and Curry. Still, this is one of the best MVP debates in a very long time, and all side rancor is welcome.
