Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis named NBA Players of the Week

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving and New Orleans Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis have been named Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for March 9-15.
Irving, who also won the award in early February, scored a Cavaliers franchise-record and NBA season-high 57 points in Thursday's thrilling overtime victory over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.
Irving averaged a ridiculous 37.3 points on 63.3 percent shooting and 86.7 percent 3-point shooting in a 3-0 week for the surging Cavs. He's posted the two highest-scoring games in the league this season.
Davis continued to produce at prodigious rates of his own, averaging 31.3 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and 4.7 blocks in a 2-1 week for the Pelicans. New Orleans trails the Oklahoma City Thunder by one game for the West's eighth and final playoff spot.
Davis, who'd surprisingly never won the weekly award in his three-year career, flirted with a rare quadruple-double in Sunday's double-overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets. He finished with 36 points, 14 rebounds, nine blocks and seven assists.
