Mr. Triple-Double: Russell Westbrook records 10th of the year in Thunder win over Heat
Oklahoma City Thunder point god Russell Westbrook cannot be stopped.
Westbrook recorded his league-leading 10th triple-double on Sunday, helping his Thunder to a 93-75 win against the visiting Miami Heat. He grabbed his 10th rebound with just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter and finished with 12 points and 17 assists along with four steals and two blocks in 34 minutes of play.
Westbrook's the first to record 10 triple-doubles in a season since Jason Kidd in 2007-2008.
Not to be overlooked, Thunder center Enes Kanter was instrumental in the win, scoring a game-high 27 points on 12-of-20 shooting along with 12 rebounds and thoroughly dominating his match-up with Heat center Hassan Whiteside.
Oklahoma City's defensive effort was also solid. They held the Heat to 39.5 percent shooting and caused 18 turnovers. Westbrook and center Steven Adams made for a strong defensive duo, with Westbrook jumping passing lanes and Adams providing a strong presence at the rim.
The win didn't come without a cost, however, as the Thunder lost Andre Roberson to an ankle injury just one minute into the game.
With the victory, the Thunder's lead on the eighth seed in the West extends to three games on the New Orleans Pelicans, who lost to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.
