Jeff Teague returning Monday for Hawks, who won't rest starters
The Atlanta Hawks aren't getting too conservative with the playing time of their starters. Yet.
The Hawks have clinched the top spot in the Eastern Conference and will likely finish with home-court advantage throughout the playoffs against any opponent except for the Golden State Warriors. That means Atlanta has little to play for beyond staying fresh, so it wasn't surprising that they sat the whole starting unit down on Saturday.
It's possible they'll do that again Tuesday on the second night of a back-to-back, but the starters will all return Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
That includes point guard Jeff Teague, who has been out since March 25 with ankle soreness. Teague will be back Monday with no minute restrictions, but here's betting the Hawks play it cautious.
In 65 games, Teague is averaging 16.3 points, seven assists and 1.7 steals, and Atlanta has been 5.4 points per-100 possessions better with him on the floor. His health is paramount to the Hawks' chances of making a deep postseason run.
