Rockets' Jones upgraded to questionable Wednesday following collapsed lung

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets may finally be getting some help for their battered and bruised frontcourt, as power forward Terrence Jones has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings.

Jones has missed six consecutive games since suffering a partially collapsed lung following a blow to the ribs in a game on March 19.

The 23-year-old is averaging 12.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in over 27 minutes per game, but has been limited to only 25 games this season due to a couple of scary injury issues.

Jones missed nearly three months earlier in the season due to nerve inflammation in his left leg that left his future in doubt.

Dwight Howard will miss one of the team's next two games on Wednesday or Thursday as the Rockets continue to cautiously work the star center back into the fold, while forwards Donatas Motiejunas and Kostas Papanikolaou have been sidelined by back and ankle injuries, respectively.

The 50-24 Rockets sit third-place in the Western Conference, a half-game behind the Southwest Division leading Memphis Grizzlies.
