Raptors' Lowry on return from back injury: 'I'm not going to rush it'
With the Toronto Raptors having firmly locked down either a third- or fourth-place finish, star point guard Kyle Lowry will take his time in returning from a back injury.
Lowry spoke before the Raptors' Friday night game against the Brooklyn Nets and shed some light on the status of his back.
Lowry: "I'm not gonna rush it. I rushed it the first time and see what happened... So I'mma take my time. I don't want this to come back"

Lowry: "It's feeling better. The back is still very tender and sensitive but the process is definitely getting better"

Lowry has missed six of the Raptors' last seven games due to his back injury. He attempted a comeback late in March, but reaggravated the injury and was forced to leave midway through the second quarter.
Playing in his ninth season, Lowry has been the Raptors' unquestioned leader, posting 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists in 34.5 minutes per game. His strong performance, especially early in the season, earned Lowry his first-ever All-Star nod.
Toronto will continue to start Greivis Vasquez at point guard in Lowry's absence.
