VIDEO: Celtics beat Raptors at OT buzzer, move into 8th
The Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors didn't play a pretty game Saturday night, but for the Celts, a win is a win.
For the Raptors, their defense is still terrible.
Marcus Smart's buzzer-beater after Isaiah Thomas lost his handle on the ball gave Boston a 117-116 victory overtime win that moved the Celtics into sole possession of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Boston's win combined with a Miami Heat loss to the Detroit Pistons gives the Celts a half-game lead over Miami for eighth.
Thomas led Boston with 25 points off the bench, while Evan Turner had 18 points and 10 assists. The Raptors' offensive game plan consisted solely of DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams - they scored 38 and 25 points respectively.
The Raps fell 1 1/2 games behind the Bulls for the No. 3 seed in the East, and hold a one game lead over the Washington Wizards for the No. 4 seed, with the tiebreaker.
