Streetball legend 'Hot Sauce' takes exception to 'Sauce Castillo'

Jennifer Stewart / USA TODAY Sports

With each passing day since a teleprompter error bore the moniker, the legend of "Sauce Castillo" has grown and grown. We're now at the point where the Sacramento Kings are dedicating a whole game in honor of Nik Stauskas's alter ego.

But while "Sauce Castillo" has been a giant hit with fans, the nickname has its detractors, namely legendary streetballer "Hot Sauce."

From TMZ Sports:

Everyone knows me as Hot Sauce. 2 Chainz shouted me out in one of his verses. I've been in a Mountain Dew commercial. I've been in movies. Ballers around the league know I'd have a problem with this.

...

At first, I could deal with them calling him "Sauce" ... But now that they're associating him with "Hot Sauce??" I got a real problem.

The ire of "Hot Sauce," real name Philip Champion, seems to be directed at the Kings' promotional night, which promises a sauce-related giveaway.

The logical solution to all this would be a 1-on-1 game for the right to the title. For what it's worth, "Hot Sauce" certainly has some game.
