76ers select Arturas Gudaitis 47th overall

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Lithuanian center Arturas Gudaitis with the 47th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Gudaitis made a late surge up draft boards, in part because so many international players pulled out of the draft and in part because of an impressive season with Zalgiris of the Lithuanian league, including a Euroleague run. The 6-foot-10 Gudaitis averaged 8.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 16.6 minutes, shooting 56.8 percent from the floor and even hitting a pair of threes.
He's not the flashiest athlete, staying mostly below the rim, but he's powerful and physical, if a bit short for a center. He projects as a decent interior defender with a workable post game, more than acceptable value at No. 47.
At age 22, Gudaitis still probably isn't ready for the NBA, but a draft-and-stash candidate is probably what the Sixers are looking for with this pick.
