Last but certainly not least, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Serbian power forward Luka Mitrovic with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Mitrovic took a big step forward at age 22, and that, in concert with several international prospects withdrawing, pushed him up draft boards - despite still being a few years away. He averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in the Serbian and Adriatic leagues and Euroleague play, operating as a sort of point-forward without the 3-point range NBA teams would hope for.
At 6-foot-8, he's a bit undersized to play that role in the NBA without an outside shot, and he's not skilled or athletic enough to play the three. As a draft-and-stash, betting on improved range from a high-motor player is hardly a bad bet.
Mitrovic was the last of six selections made by the 76ers on the evening, with the most predominant being Duke's Jahlil Okafor with the No. 3 overall pick.
