Goran Dragic on Heat: 'Hopefully I can stay here'
Goran Dragic has hinted at his hopes to stay with Miami.
The guard, who joined the Heat in a mid-February trade, is set to become a free agent July 1.
"I'm a free agent," Dragic told reporters after Miami's 107-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. "I like this organization. Hopefully, I can stay here and try to have a good season next year."
Dragic praised to the Heat's resolve this season despite injuries to Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.
"Like all the players were saying, they went through some hard times," Dragic said. "That's what I love about this team. They never surrendered. They never made excuses. Who you got, you go there, you battle."
Playing with the Heat is a family affair. His brother Zoran came with him from the Phoenix Suns in the February trade.
Right now, Dragic is focused on finishing strong and trying to help his team get to the postseason.
"That's not fair to my teammates to think about the future. Right now, I'm part of this team. I give everything what I got on the court," said Dragic. "We still got two games left. I'm still not thinking about that."
