The Portland Trail Blazers were down to just eight healthy bodies in their contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum sustained a sprained left ankle to end the first half and did not return.
McCollum looked to have slipped on a wet spot underneath the basket and limped into the locker room after a stoppage in play.
Portland has been beset by a rash of injuries of late. Their wing rotation is utterly decimated: Arron Afflalo, Wes Matthews, Nicolas Batum, McCollum and Dorell Wright are all injured, as is power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
Furthermore, it looked as if McCollum was turning a corner in his young career. Over his past 14 games, McCollum averaged 14.1 points, 3.1 points and 1.4 steals in 25.2 minutes per game.
