Mavs' Carlisle 'very concerned' about Parsons, who misses Game 2
The Dallas Mavericks will head into Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs without two of their key rotation players.
Both small forward Chandler Parsons and point guard Devin Harris are out for Tuesday night's game against the Houston Rockets.
Parsons has been struggling with a right knee injury that caused him to miss the last six games of the regular season. He played for 37 minutes in Saturday's Game 1 loss, posting 10 points, six rebounds and two assists, but reaggravated his knee in the process.
However, Parsons' knee did not swell up again. Although it is extremely sore, he was seen doing rehab work as shootaround began. However, Parsons' status seems to have worsened, as he will see a doctor in Dallas tomorrow.
Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle also noted that he is "very concerned" about Parsons and ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports that Parsons might need two weeks to heal.
Harris has a lingering toe problem that he appeared to have reaggravated. He played for 10 minutes in Game 1 before aggravating his injury and earned two points, two rebounds and one assist.
In Parsons's place, the Mavericks will turn to Richard Jefferson in the starting lineup. Backup forward Al-Farouq Aminu will also likely see a bump in minutes.
