Paul Pierce continues to troll Raptors fans in latest tweet
If you thought Paul Pierce would show some mercy after torturing Toronto Raptors fans again with a clutch dagger at the end of Friday's Game 3, then you don't know The Truth.
Here's what Pierce, who has exchanged in trash-talk with the Raptors for the last two seasons, tweeted out Saturday morning.
Pierce recorded the series-winning block to lift the Brooklyn Nets over the Raptors in last year's seven-game first-round series, then riled up a rowdy Toronto crowd before this year's postseason when he said the Raptors don't have the "it" factor to worry his Washington Wizards in the playoffs.
He also shouted that he didn't want to have to come back through customs after Washington's Game 2 victory north of the border - a sweep already on his mind.
Pierce and the Wizards have backed up their tough talk through three games, with the 37-year-old averaging 16 points on a ridiculous True Shooting Percentage of 76.7 as Washington has pushed Toronto to the brink of a quick elimination.
As for the Schopenhauer quote he tweeted out, Pierce was ridiculed by a Toronto newspaper as both a dinosaur and a wizard who "talks out of his a--," and was then violently opposed by a hostile crowd both inside and outside Air Canada Centre, whose chants altered between "Paul Pierce Sucks" and "F--k Paul Pierce."
After 10 playoff games against Pierce over the last 12 months, however, (of which the Raptors have won three and Pierce has set fire to their hopes and dreams) Raptors fans no doubt accept that the truth is quite evident.
That's why the Wizards brought him here.
