Report: Grizzlies' Conley to undergo surgery Monday for multiple facial fractures
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley has multiple facial fractures, and will reportedly undergo surgery on Monday. The Grizzlies have already ruled him out for Monday's Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Conley, who was already dealing with a tricky foot sprain that had him playing at about 70 percent, suffered the injury during Game 3 on Saturday.
He left halfway through the game after Blazers guard C.J. McCollum elbowed him in the eye socket. He missed the rest of the game and was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.
The extent of the surgery is still unclear, but the injury was said to be serious, according to Ronald Tillery from The Commercial Appeal.
Conley averaged 15.8 points, three rebounds and 5.4 assists during the regular season, and 16 points and 3.7 assists on a reduced workload in the playoffs.
Nick Calathes has replaced Conley in the lineup, and may split time with Beno Udrih, if and when Udrih is ready to return from an ankle injury.
