PHOTOS: NBA logos reimagined as NFL helmets, 'Game of Thrones' sigils
Every so often, someone will reimagine the logos for teams in one sport as if they belonged to another. It's kind of silly, but it's a bit of good fun on a slower news day, of which the playoffs provide many.
An unemployed graphic designer took to Reddit on Tuesday to flash his skills by coming up with NFL helmet designs for each NBA team. Designing completely from scratch and eliminating basketballs from the logos of the 21 NBA teams that feature them, he produced some pretty cool designs.
All 30 of the helmets can be found on Imgur, but here are a few favorites.
The Brooklyn Nets helmet is plain, but that simplicity has worked well at the NBA level. Were the glossy look below changed to a black matte similar to that of the Jacksonville Jaguars, this could be a really cool bucket:
While the loss of all things dinosaur would be tough to swallow, this Toronto Raptors design with a maple leaf on top of the Raptor claw is a cool redesign:
This Milwaukee Bucks helmet might be considered cheesy by some, but the antlers up the side of the head is a creative addition:
It's unclear what's going on with the Houston Rockets helmet here, but it's awesome:
It was quite the day for NBA artwork, as Stargazer Media came through with some "Game of Thrones"-inspired NBA house sigils. They just have to hope the King in the North is OK with this.
The Nets were also among the best sigils, while the Raptors were, well, not:
