LeBron, Curry headline 1st-team All-NBA unit

Stephen Curry and LeBron James may yet meet in next month's NBA Finals. For now, they co-headline the All-NBA First Team.

Curry, fresh off his MVP triumph, joined James as the only players to be unanimous selections, both earning 129 votes and 645 total voting points, as a panel of NBA media members voted for three teams of two guards, two forwards and a center.

James Harden, Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol rounded out the First Team.

Curry joins Davis and Gasol as first-timers on the First Team squad, while Harden, the runner-up to Curry in the MVP race, earned his second consecutive First Team selection.

James was named to his eighth consecutive First Team (ninth overall) and 11th consecutive All-NBA team.

Of the five First Team members, Davis is the only one that had never been named to an All-NBA team before. The 22-year-old averaged 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to their first playoff berth in four years, posting only the 18th 30-plus PER season in league history.

Cousins, Jordan, Thompson and Irving also earned their first career All-NBA nods.

Duncan, who was named to an NBA-record 15th All-Defensive Team on Wednesday, matched Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with his 15th All-NBA selection on Thursday.

The All-NBA selections proved yet another indication of the competitive imbalance between the Western and Eastern conferences, as 12 of the 15 selections hail from the West.
