Wizards' John Wall seeking multiple opinions on wrist after sitting out Game 2 loss
Point guard John Wall is seeking every opinion available on the sprained left wrist that caused him to be sidelined for the Washington Wizards' Game 2 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
After his squad fell 106-90 to the Hawks at Phillips Arena, Wall said he has seen two doctors and he will have a third doctor look at his non-shooting hand before Game 3 on Saturday, according to Comcast SportsNet's J. Michael.
"It's real, real tough. I came and did what I usually do before the games, try to do like more ball-handling, trying to pound it. Real tough to do," Wall said of his pregame routine. "It's a real, real bad sprain."
Despite his shooting hand being sound, he uses his left hand on the drive. Wall stressed that he has not been required to undergo an MRI and his wrist does not have any breaks, fractures or tears.
"The ball wouldn't stay where I wanted it to. I didn't want to go out there and have 100 turnovers," said Wall, on the decision to miss Tuesday's game. "That's a waste of time."
Wall originally sustained the wrist injury in Washington's Game 1 victory after falling hard on his hand on a drive.
After averaging 17.6 points, 10 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals in the regular season, the All-Star point guard has proven to be an excellent helper in the postseason, leading in playoff assists with 12.6.
Ramon Sessions started in Game 2 in his stead and posted 21 points and four assists to help dull the sting of Wall's absence.
