Kyrie Irving is literally drawing inspiration from the blockbuster film "Whiplash."
Irving wrote "Whiplash" on the sneakers he wore in Game 5 on Tuesday between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls.

"Whiplash" is a film about a jazz student's arduous and relentless journey to become the best at his craft. He's spurred along by a manic instructor, who pushes his student to the limits and beyond to achieve greatness.
The theme of "Whiplash" mirrors the tribulations that befall Irving's quest for the championship this season. Irving is dealing with injuries to both legs, but has managed to play in every game of the playoffs thus far. He has pushed his mind and body to the limit – parallel to the ethos of "Whiplash" – and has helped the Cavaliers to within a game of the Eastern Conference Finals.
