Grizzlies' Tony Allen exits Game 6 with hamstring injury

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without shutdown defender Tony Allen for the remainder of Game 6 on Friday.

The Grizzlies started Jeff Green at small forward to begin the second half because Allen - who has a hamstring injury - will sit for the rest of Game 6, according to the broadcast.

Allen started the game but looked noticeably bothered by his injury. He played five minutes before checking out.

The Grizzlies face elimination at the the hands of the Golden State Warriors, who hold a 3-2 series lead. Allen is Memphis's best perimeter defender but his hamstring injury limited him to just 16 minutes in Game 4 and kept him out of Game 5.

However, having Green in place of Allen should at least help open up space for the Grizzlies' offense to operate. Green is a career 34.2 percent shooter from deep, which will force the Warriors to guard him on the perimeter - something they simply refused to do against Allen.
