Rockets tie NBA record for most 1st-quarter points in playoff game

The Houston Rockets have tied the NBA record for most first-quarter points in a postseason game, dropping 45 on the Golden State Warriors during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Led by Josh Smith's 13 points, the Rockets nailed 77.3 percent of their shots, including 8-of-9 from behind the arc.

They tie the record shared by both the 1985 Los Angeles Lakers (versus the Phoenix Suns) and 1986 Dallas Mavericks (versus the Lakers).
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had an appropriate response when asked what the most troubling aspect of the opening 12 minutes was.
