When you're invested in a unique, MVP talent like Stephen Curry, you take steps to protect that investment, whether you're the Golden State Warriors or Under Armour.

The shoe and apparel company to which Curry signed with in 2013 reportedly filed for trademarks on a number of Curry-related nicknames, slogans and catchphrases last month, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

In addition to Curry's "Baby-Faced Assassin" nickname and the "Charged By Belief" slogan that Under Armour used with Curry's shoe launch in February, the company also moved in May to trademark "Fall Back," "The Game's New Creative Genius," "The Patron Saint of Underdogs" and "The League's Most Unguardable Player."

According to Rovell, the trademarks are intended for use on footwear and apparel, including head and eyewear.

Curry averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and two steals on an absurd True Shooting Percentage of 63.8 to lift the Warriors to a league-best 67 wins during the regular season, before leading Golden State to a Western Conference championship with an outstanding performance through the first three rounds of the postseason.

The reigning MVP and his Warriors will open the NBA Finals at home against LeBron James's Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
