Report: Mavericks move ahead of Spurs on Aldridge's list
We're getting into silly season in the NBA, where rumors fly like Iman Shumpert after an Andrew Bogut pick.
As such, LaMarcus Aldridge - one of this summer's premium unrestricted free agents - may have moved away from his much-reported potential matching with the San Antonio Spurs, according to Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher.
Aldridge, a Texas native, has been linked to both the Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks. According to the report, the latter have the inside track on luring the power forward away from the Portland Trail Blazers. Bucher also reports the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks aren't viable options for Aldridge.
Aldridge's likelihood of remaining with the Blazers seems to have taken a hit in recent months based on several other reports. Rumored reasons have included everything from a desire to return to the Lone Star State to an unwillingness to keep playing with Damian Lillard.
Last week, reports emerged that Aldridge had sold his Portland home - but it became clear later that the house was actually owned by former Blazer Damon Stoudamire and only rented by Aldridge.
It's still worth remembering that only the Blazers can offer the four-time All-Star a five-year max deal.
