Draft prospect Porzingis: Knicks are NBA's best organization

When deciphering who the NBA's model franchise is, one would likely consider championships, perennial contention, and a good history of drafting, as well as talent acquisition and retention.

Given that the New York Knicks haven't won a championship in 42 years, have only won one playoff series over the last 15 seasons, are coming off a 65-loss season, and have a penchant for trading draft picks rather than valuing them, it's fair to say Gotham's ball team belongs nowhere near a discussion about the best organizations in the Association.

Either Latvian prospect Kristaps Porzingis isn't familiar with the NBA, then, or he desperately wants to play at The Garden, because he told ESPN's Andy Katz he believes the Knicks are second to none.

Porzingis, a potentially offensively devastating big man, has seen his stock rise steadily as Thursday's draft approaches, and he's certainly in the mix around the No. 4 pick, where New York will select. He also reportedly worked out for the Knicks earlier this week.

There are plenty of reasons why the versatile 19-year-old will hear his name called early on Thursday. His NBA awareness apparently isn't one of them.
