It won't come as a total shock, but the Denver Nuggets are making forward Danilo Gallinari available in a trade scenario, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears.
The Nuggets are a team that figures to be active in the coming weeks in the wake of new coaching hire Mike Malone. Malone said he expects there to be changes with Denver's roster, and Gallinari is a valuable trade chip.
Despite missing 23 games with a torn right meniscus this past season, the 26-year-old Italian remains a gifted scorer and threat from deep. While his 12.4 points per game this season represented his lowest output since his rookie year, he shot 35.5 percent from beyond the arc.
That shooting will make the 26-year-old a hot commodity on the trade market, with the Memphis Grizzlies one of the teams reported to be in the mix.
Gallinari has one year left on his current contract at just under $12 million. Knee issues are a concern, however, as he missed the entire 2013-14 season after tearing his left ACL and missed more time this season due to a torn meniscus in his right knee.
