As for the decision Bryant was facing, the timing is unclear. If Kobe was simply facing the decision of whether to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers or not, then it would have had to have been after the draft and well after he had already declared for the draft rather than opting for collegiate ball.
If Amy ran into Bryant while the then-17-year-old was deciding whether to attend college or declare for the draft, then it's interesting that Bryant would have already been mentioning the Lakers, since most of the basketball world believes he and his agent forced his way there.
Either way, Amy has one fascinating story to share with generations of family.
