The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to try to bring back the whole Eastern Conference-winning gang, taking a break from stalled negotiations with Tristan Thompson to take care of their unlikeliest playoff hero.
The Cavs are making progress in discussions on a multi-year deal for restricted free agent guard Matthew Dellavedova, according to RealGM's Shams Charania.
The relentlessly scrappy Dellavedova, an undrafted reserve thrust into a starting role in the NBA Finals thanks to an injury to Kyrie Irving, is expected to sign for somewhere between $3 million and $5 million per year.
He averaged 4.8 points and three assists for Cleveland last season, shooting 40.7 percent from beyond the arc and acting as thorn in approximately 8,456 sides.
