With DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews in tow, the Dallas Mavericks have shifted their focus from big-game hunting to roster filling.
On that note, the Mavs will reportedly bring back veteran forward Richard Jefferson on a minimum contract, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.
As a player with more than 10 years of NBA experience, a minimum deal for Jefferson would come in just under $1.5 million.
Jefferson, who had also been linked to the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency, is no longer the dynamic threat he once was, particularly on the defensive end, but he remains a fine bench option as a 3-point specialist.
The 35-year-old, 14-year veteran has shot better than 41 percent from deep over the last two seasons with the Mavericks and Utah Jazz, surprisingly emerging as one of the game's most consistent long-range threats during that time.
Jefferson averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in just under 17 minutes per game with the Mavs in 2014-15.
