Report: David West agrees to veteran's minimum deal with Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent power forward David West on a veteran's minimum deal, according to NBA TV's David Aldridge.

That's worth $1.4 million for one year, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. West opted out of $12.6 million next season with the Indiana Pacers because he was adamant he wanted a legitimate shot at the NBA Finals.

It's been a busy few days for the Spurs. After landing one of the prize catches of the summer, LaMarcus Aldridge, they got return commitments from Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. West projects as the third big for the Spurs, a role the soon-to-be 35-year-old should fit well.

West was also linked to discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While he doesn't score or rebound with the efficiency he used to, the 6-foot-9, 250-pounder brings toughness and another veteran presence to a Spurs team stocked with pro's pros.
