Wesley Johnson is changing homes in only the most figurative sense of the word.
The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a deal with Johnson, an unrestricted free agent, according to Shams Charania of RealGM. The contract is believed to be for two years at the league minimum, which would pay him $2.3 million if he exercises his player option for the second season.
Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, making his change the easiest of the offseason. No apartment hunting, no moving trucks, just a change in locker room in the same building.
The Clippers were said to have been targeting the 27-year-old Johnson if he'd sign on a minimum deal, as they're severely limited in terms of cap space and roster flexibility. They're flush with shooting guards, but at 6-foot-7, Johnson can play a lot of small forward and even masquerade as the skinniest of stretch-fours.
A solid defender thanks to his appreciable wingspan, Johnson's offensive contributions come mostly in transition and from outside, where he's a career 34.7-percent shooter. A former No. 4 overall pick, Johnson has averaged 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 25.7 minutes over 349 career games with three teams.
