Shooting guard J.J. Redick isn't happy about his Los Angeles Clippers' offseason so far, and it's not because of the uniforms he'll be wearing next year. When asked on a podcast how he would grade the team's offseason to this point - specifically after the loss of center DeAndre Jordan - he was quite honest.
"F ... is there an F minus?" he replied to Bleacher Report's Nicole Zaloumis.
"We had one priority this summer, and that was to re-sign DJ, and we missed out on that. Barring some miracle, the makeup of our team is completely different now."
Miracles in the middle for the Clippers at this point might include signing JaVale McGee on a flier that he can substantially increase his basketball IQ. It's not pretty.
Redick went on to point out how Jordan, an elite rim protector, was also crucial to the Clippers' offense, making opposing defenses choose between inside and out. After all, he was as big a part of "Lob City" as anyone.
Statistically speaking alone, his 69.3-percent shooting, 11 points, 14 rebounds, and more than two blocks per game over the past two seasons - a pair of the most successful in franchise history - will be impossible to replace.
Points to Redick for rare candor from a professional athlete, but the Clippers won't be the same without Jordan, and everybody knows it.
