VIDEO: Baron Davis still has ridiculous moves, drops 44 in Drew League game
The Drew League is the best.
Not in terms of quality of play, necessarily, but in terms of sheer esoteric basketball awesomeness. NBA players show up to play without warning, ridiculous numbers get posted, forgotten names take the court, and, sometimes, a 36-year-old actor-producer dishes a ridiculous pass to a 39-year-old who wears his own jersey in public.
To be fair to the defenders here, the actor-producer was Baron Davis, and the two-time NBA All-Star still has some ridiculous handles. He used them to great effect Tuesday, shaking up defenders and throwing a behind-the-back pass to Keith Closs.
Davis wound up dropping 44 points in the game, and you can already feel the talk of another comeback attempt coming.
Davis hasn't played in the NBA since the 2011-12 playoffs with the New York Knicks. Now 35 years old, it's tough to envision Davis coming back after nearly three calendar years away, especially since he hasn't been playing professionally anywhere in meantime.
In 825 games over 13 seasons with six teams, Davis averaged 16.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.8 steals.
