LeBron James praises Heat's offseason moves, says 'they're going to be a contender'
"The Decision" in 2010 was one of the most monumental moments in NBA history, with LeBron James revealing that he was taking his talents to South Beach to play alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat.
The "Heatles" disbanded last summer after winning two NBA championships in four tries, with The King returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers in an attempt to guide his hometown squad to their first-ever title win.
Heat president Pat Riley worked his magic over the offseason after his team missed out on the playoffs in 2014-15, re-signing key players, drafting a top prospect and acquiring quality rotation players to fill out his roster.
James has taken notice from afar, as he told Ethan Skolnick and Howard Beck during an appearance on Bleacher Report Radio on Sunday.
"I think Miami is doing some great things," James said. "They drafted the kid out of Duke, Justise (Winslow). I think he's going to be a really good player. They've added some big pieces. They signed Amare, I saw that. And Gerald Green is a big piece, I think, as well, coming from Phoenix.
"And the re-signing of Dragic, and C-B coming back, one of my good friends, he's coming back off of injury, and by getting D-Wade back, they're going to be a contender."
Miami isn't the only team that's improved their standing, which James is well aware of.
"You have the teams that were here kind of last year," he added. "You have us, Chicago and Atlanta. And, also, not letting me forget Boston, too, because they're coming back and they added a good piece in David Lee, too. And also Washington.
"So many teams can be there. So many teams got better. Some teams that were good last year will probably fall off because they lost some integral pieces to their team. But you see it every single year, teams come, teams go."
