Fundamentals and humility are two words that could adequately describe the entire San Antonio Spurs organization over the past 18 years, and it appears shooting guard Danny Green is no exception.

Green, who re-signed with the Spurs this month for a reported $40 million over four years, probably left about $25 million on the table elsewhere, considering what other 3-and-D specialists including DeMarre Carroll and Wesley Matthews got.

However, Green doesn't feel that way, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Dan McCarney:

There is more to this story: the Spurs have built a franchise where winners want to play, and veterans Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and David West all took bigger discounts to stay or go there this summer.

As far as Green specifically, he's loyal to the Spurs and coach Gregg Popovich. In 2010, Popovich cut a disappointing Green in the midst of a 10-day contract. Green called Popovich and begged for a second chance, and the rest is history.
