Report: Kings, Seth Curry agree to 2-year, $2M deal
Seth Curry, the younger brother of reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry, has agreed to a two-year, $2-million deal to join the Sacramento Kings, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
The contract will include two guaranteed years with a player option for the second season.
The 24-year-old led all scorers in Las Vegas Summer League with the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 24.3 points on 45.9 percent shooting in 33.2 minutes.
Curry went undrafted in 2013 and has since bounced around the D-League and NBA on 10-day contracts with the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns, playing a grand total of four games.
A member of the All-NBA D-League First Team last season, the Duke alumnus seems to also have the "Curry Gene" (as found in his brother and legendary sharp-shooting father Dell Curry) and as such offers a similar aptitude in shooting, knocking down 46.7 percent of his 3-point attempts with the Erie BayHawks.
Sacramento's backcourt is awfully crowded with newly signed guards Rajon Rondo and Marco Belinelli, along with Darren Collison and Ben McLemore. It's a low-risk move for the franchise, who will hope Curry can carry over his scoring prowess from Las Vegas and emerge as a valuable contributor next season.
