The Sacramento Kings officially announced the signing of veteran forward Caron Butler on Thursday to a reported two-year deal worth $3 million.
The contract includes a player option for the second year.
Butler, 35, was selected 10th overall by the Miami Heat in 2002, earning a spot on the All-NBA Rookie First Team in 2003.
He's bounced around the league since, suiting up for seven other teams (Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Detroit Pistons).
Butler won a championship with the Mavericks in 2011, though he wasn't part of the playoff run after a torn patella tendon in his right knee kept him on the sidelines.
Last year with the Pistons, Butler averaged 5.9 points on 40.7 percent shooting in 78 games.
Butler will presumably come off the bench, splitting minutes with Omri Casspi as a backup to starter Rudy Gay.
