Celtics re-sign Jae Crowder to reported 5-year, $35M deal

The Boston Celtics officially re-signed swingman Jae Crowder on Monday.

In accordance with team policy, the terms of Crowder's deal were not released, but he will reportedly earn $35 million over the next five years.

"Jae epitomizes everything that we look for in a Celtic," Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge said. "His infectious energy on both ends of the court and his versatile skill set enabled him to win over both the coaching staff and our fan base after his acquisition last season."

The Celtics nabbed Crowder from the Dallas Mavericks in a mid-season deal involving Rajon Rondo. In 57 games in Celtic green, Crowder averaged 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 24.2 minutes.

Moreover, Crowder helped spark the Celtics' turnaround, providing the team with a tough-minded small forward capable of defending multiple positions. With Crowder on board, Boston finished the season on a 24-12 run, which led to a playoff appearance.

The 25-year-old Crowder figures to serve as the Celtics' starting small forward in a platoon with Evan Turner next season.
