The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms on a contract with 16-year NBA veteran point guard Andre Miller, according to RealGM's Shams Charania. It's a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum of roughly $1.5 million, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears.
Miller, who turns 40 in March, split last season between the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings. Earlier this month, new Kings VP Vlade Divac didn't sound too committed about re-signing Miller, who is close to head coach George Karl. Miller is also close to Timberwolves assistant Ryan Saunders, according to Spears.
The addition of Miller doesn't do a ton for the Wolves outside of provide them with another veteran presence – alongside Kevin Garnett – for the team's impressive stable of young talent. Miller is still a serviceable 15-minute per game backup point guard, averaging 4.4 points and just under two assists between the Wizards and Kings last season.
Minnesota will be Miller's eighth NBA address.
