VIDEO: Lakers' Russell drills backwards shot, imitates Kobe's fist pump
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell appears to have already learned some tricks of the trade from teammate Kobe Bryant, including one of The Black Mamba's signature poses.
While goofing around at the NBA's rookie photo shoot, the former Ohio State Buckeye showed off his range and accuracy by nailing an arching backwards shot from halfcourt, finishing off his display with a vintage Bryant fist pump.
Bryant usually saved his celebratory fist pump for game-winners, like his legendary contested jumper to beat the Phoenix Suns during the 2006 postseason.
If Russell wants to bust out the pose during the 2015-16 season, he'll have to earn it with some big buckets of his own.
