Cousins, Bledsoe combine for 176 points in charity exhibition game
Old pals, and fellow Alabamans, Eric Bledsoe and DeMarcus Cousins reunited for a good cause Saturday.
They also managed to squeeze some ball into a busy day of altruistic activities.
The Eric Bledsoe Back to School Rally at Railroad Park, where the Phoenix Suns guard distributed book bags and school supplies to hundreds of children in attendance, featured a celebrity basketball game in which Cousins, Bledsoe's college teammate, joined the fun.
Each player poured in enough points to fill up an entire team's box score. Bledsoe scored 85 points, while Boogie contributed a modest 91 of his own.
The community event was held in Bledsoe's hometown of Birmingham, Ala., which is approximately 200 miles from Cousins' childhood stomping grounds in Mobile, Ala.
Houston Rockets forward K.J. McDaniels also suited up for Bledsoe's team.
Prior to becoming running mates at the University of Kentucky, the two faced off in the 2009 state championship semifinal game. Bledsoe's team - A.H. Parker High School - defeated Cousins' LeFlore High School squad.
