Thunder's Durant on recovery from foot injury: 'I can go 100 percent'
Currently participating in Team USA Basketball's Las Vegas minicamp, Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant's ailing foot - which cost him 55 games in 2014-15 - doesn't appear to be giving him any problems.
"I'm feeling great," Durant told reporters on Tuesday, per Bleacher Report's Ethan Skolnick. "I can go 100 percent."
The four-time scoring champion confirmed to ESPN's Marc Stein on Monday that he would be taking part in the camp in some capacity, although the original assumption was that he wouldn't engage in physical activity because of his foot.
It's merely a non-contact practice, but it looks like Durant was being accurate in terms of how far along he's come in his recovery.
Having Durant - who was ruled out for the season in March after it was revealed that he needed bone graft surgery - on the inactive list placed more pressure on the shoulders of teammate Russell Westbrook, who just missed out on leading OKC to the postseason without "The Durantula" in the mix.
The Thunder finished the campaign with a 45-37 record, which would have been good enough to qualify for the playoffs had the team not lost its tiebreaker to the New Orleans Pelicans earlier in the year.
Oklahoma City was still a formidable squad sans Durant, but there's no denying how dangerous the Thunder could have been had the 2014 league MVP not had issues with his foot.
Durant agrees with that sentiment.
In the 27 games he was healthy enough to suit up for, Durant averaged 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists while shooting 51 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from behind the arc.
