Report: Former NBA player Malik Rose named to Hawks' front office
Malik Rose has been named the manager of basketball operations for the Atlanta Hawks, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.
A formal announcement will be made at some point next week.
The move to Atlanta's front office will take Rose away from the broadcast booth, where he's spent the past few seasons calling games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Great for Hawks. Unfortunate for fans. Malik is one of the best game commentators and radio hosts out there. https://t.co/dyfyKLPehZ

The 40-year-old will seemingly work underneath Mike Budenholzer, who was named Atlanta's team president this offseason, replacing Danny Ferry. Rose and Budenholzer have a previous working relationship stemming from their time with the San Antonio Spurs.
Rose suited up for four teams (the Spurs, Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, and Oklahoma City Thunder) over his 13-year career, averaging 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds.
