Report: Heat struggling to find suitors for Andersen, Chalmers
The Miami Heat are reportedly shopping veteran center Chris Andersen - and no one's buying.
Andersen, who said he isn't fazed by rumors he's on the trading block, hasn't been drawing much interest from other teams, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
The 37-year-old Andersen is due $5 million in 2015-16. While he's still an effective energy player off the bench, it's a steep price tag, even at one year. With Josh McRoberts returning, the Heat are trying to set "Birdman" free now or else they'll face a $23-million luxury tax bill with their current roster.
Jackson reports that while Heat owner Micky Arison would like to cut down the tax bill, there has been no edict to the team to do so. Miami would face a repeater tax this upcoming season.
Heat guard Mario Chalmers has been on the block for some time as well.
