Suns unveil new jerseys, court design focused on 'Civic Pride'

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Back in February, the Phoenix Suns added an alternate uniform they deemed the "PHXRising," and they continued their minor rebrand with the unveiling of new jerseys Tuesday.

Pushing the new slogan "We Are PHX" with a renewed focus on their roots in the city, the Suns' newest jersey will feature "PHX" on the front instead of their team name. The Suns explained their "Civic Pride" alternate as follows:

The new alternate "Civic Pride" uniform brings that great tradition to the newest generation of Suns by using a similar PHX in white across the chest of the jersey.

The color of the uniform hearkens back to another group of the Valley’s favorite Suns, too. The black jersey and shorts pay homage to the alternate set that debuted during Sir Charles’ reign during the 1994-95 season. The purple and orange piping along the neckline is also a call back to that beloved uniform.

The Suns were the first franchise in Phoenix and are the only one with the city name across their chests

The Suns also called the new slogan a "rallying cry" for their fanbase, one that now has its own uniform. The new jersey is the black one sported by Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker here:

In addition, the Suns tweaked their alternate orange uniform.

They also revealed a new court design, which includes the #WeArePHX slogan, a subtle purple line around the court, and the return of the sunburst logo at center court.
