With Dennis Schroder's potential overtime-forcing free throw missing with three seconds to play, Germany fell 77-76 to Spain, ending its EuroBasket 2015 tournament. The loss drops Germany to 1-4 in group play, eliminating it from the tournament ahead of the Round of 16 and closing the book on a potential 2016 Olympic berth.
And so the second-leading all-time scorer in EuroBasket history may have just played his final game on the international stage.

Nowitzki finished the game with 10 points and seven rebounds and finished the tournament averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds

Already the NBA's seventh all-time leading scorer and tops among players born outside of the United States, Nowitzki likely closes the book on a storied international career with the loss.

Nowitzki played for the national team as far back as 1997 and made his major tournament debut at EuroBasket 1999. Most notable, he was a member of the silver-medal team at the 2002 FIBA Basketball World Cup and Germany's 2008 Olympic team. In all, he appeared in 86 international tournament games for Germany over 18 years, a remarkable commitment for a 37-year-old with 1,405 total NBA games on his odometer.
Danke für die tolle Unterstützung diese Woche. Danke für den tollen Abschied. Den Moment werde ich nie vergessen. Es war mir immer eine Ehre
