Report: Grizzlies add Patrick Christopher to camp roster

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies added one more name to the competition for their final roster spot, signing Patrick Christopher to a non-guaranteed training camp contract, according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders.

Christopher joins three others on non-guaranteed deals and 14 players with guaranteed contracts, potentially making for a competitive camp. The Grizzlies, who are hard-capped, were one of three teams to enter the 2014-15 season with an open roster spot, so it's conceivable that none of the players without guarantees make the team.

Undrafted out of California in 2010, Christopher was in camp with the Grizzlies last year, too, and later got a brief look with the Utah Jazz. In four games, he scored six points and grabbed six rebounds while shooting 3-of-12 from the floor.

The 6-foot-5 swingman has spent time playing in Turkey, France, and the D-League, but lost most of his 2014-15 season due to injury. In seven D-League appearances, he averaged 15 points, 3.3 rebounds, and two assists while knocking down 39 percent of his outside looks.
