Last season, to generate buzz for his All-Defensive team candidacy, the Charlotte Hornets whipped up an inspired campaign for swingman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Kidd-Gilchrist was ultimately left off both NBA All-Defensive teams, but he's kept the spirit of the campaign alive, having taken to the role of security guard with an eagerness nobody could've reasonably anticipated.
The 21-year-old got into character Thursday and had a little fun at new teammate Jeremy Lin's expense.

It's the second dust-up Lin's had with Hornets security - both real and fake - in the past week.
Lin, who signed with Charlotte as a free agent this offseason, was held up Saturday when he tried to enter the team's arena for the first time, as the security guard on duty didn't recognize him.
He's already got a form of retribution in mind for Kidd-Gilchrist.
