Report: 76ers' Marshall won't be ready for start of 2015-16 season
Recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee will keep Philadelphia 76ers point guard Kendall Marshall on the sidelines for the start of the 2015-16 campaign, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey.
"He definitely won't be ready at the start," Pompey wrote during a recent Q-and-A online chat.
Marshall, 24, suffered the ACL injury overseas in London while suiting up for the Milwaukee Bucks against the New York Knicks on Jan. 15.
In 28 games with Milwaukee, Marshall averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 assists while shooting 39.1 percent from 3-point range. The team dealt him to the Phoenix Suns prior to the trade deadline and the Suns waived him just two days later.
Philadelphia recently signed Marshall to a reported four-year deal where he'll make $2.1 million in his first season.
Upon his return, the 6-foot-4 floor general will compete with Tony Wroten - who's also making his way back from an ACL injury - for playing time at the one spot. Isaiah Canaan and Pierre Jackson will also be in the mix.
