VIDEO: Pacers mascot loses head during trampoline dunk
The preseason is the preseason for everyone.
Players are working their way into shape and shaking off rust from a long offseason. Coaches are trying new tactics while developing relationships with players. Training staffs are monitoring workloads.
And mascots, well, it's preseason for them, too. Indiana Pacers mascot Lil' Boomer is still working his way into midseason form, literally losing his head on an attempt at a trampoline dunk during preseason action on Tuesday.

It's unclear if missing the dunk was a planned humor spot, but chances are a mascot's head falling off, hardly a child-friendly occurrence, wasn't part of the script. But hey, there are still two weeks to work out the kinks before the season starts.
